“Harvey” certainly was not playing the role of theinvisible rabbit last month. The destruction left behind was heart breaking, and as needle womenI’m sure we have all thought of those projects, bothin the works, as well as finished, that were destroyed by the floods. While in this instance nothing could have saved them, it is perhaps a good time to do some personal housekeeping and see how you have stored your precious needlework. I plan to write a more detailed checklist in the near future….give me time to come upfor air after this really busy early fall sales season we are having.
The Creative Sewing Market is just around the corner. It will be held at the Marriott on Highway 280 in Birmingham, AL, Sunday September 10, 2017. IT IS A ONE DAY MARKET! The hours are 10AM – 5PM. Come prepared with your shopping list and wish list. Bear Threads will have many sale laces, embroideries, and fabrics, as well as antiques and other goodies. IT IS A CASH AND CARRY MARKET, so bring cash or checks as we do NOT take credit cards.
We are excited to be starting a new season and year here at Bear Threads. Our Inventory Reduction sale the past 18 months has been quite successful. We are happy to say we have cleared out some older inventory, and now have room for new trims and fabrics – WOW! In fact we will be introducing a new lace set at the Birmingham
market, along with some new fabrics. We also have a shipment of laces coming soon with thebeloved ‘gooseneck’ insertion for which we haveso many orders, among them! So be sure to see us FIRST at the market next Sunday!
Since our sale was so successful, we have re- structured our sale list. Some items are no longer on sale, but new ones have been added. Actually, if you are a shop that has a strong following of the Ivory laces, you might study the list and stock up on many of the Ivory French laces now included in the 40% off group.
We have a new format for the sale flyer which is easier to read as the laces and embroideries are listed numerically and by discount amount. Specifically, if it is not listed, it is not on sale.
All this to say that, contrary to some rumors going around, we are NOT going out of business; but rather, re-grouping, re-stocking and re- energizing!!! Heirloom Sewing is continuing a strong presence among sewists today and Bear Threads, Ltd. is, has always been and always will be the premier source of the Finest Swiss Fabrics and Trimmings, and French laces. We simply will not carry anything but the best!
