After a very rainy weekend, fall is definitely with us and a bit of frost on the pumpkin cannot be far behind. Halloween decorations are already going up, and Holiday shopping is around the corner. But, you have plenty of time for sewing some special gifts for those lucky ones on your list so get your projects going and you can be done by Thanksgiving. Some quick projects we have featured in the past are guest towels, tissue covers, eye glass cases, needle cases and more – all of which are small and take small amounts of fabric and lace. Most important the recipient will be touched by your thoughtfulness.
We have enjoyed our year with Louise Hedrick so very much and as our time with her draws to a close, we have decided to flip this month’s feature to look at the charming baby dolls of the 1860’s onward. As you read this months’ article, just imagine having a Christening party for a baby doll! Louise’s final article for November/December will be on the beloved ‘Bleuette’.
Lots of news is in the works for you our shop owners, and our sewers around the world. First, we are so excited to offer a sweet delicate new Swiss embroidery as you will see enclosed, so do give us a call soon to order yours. Next you will be happy to know our new website is under construction which will be more user friendly and mobile device friendly. Good things are worth the wait! The first quarter of “Bear In Mind” 2016 is planned and there will be lots of guest features, ‘how to features’ and informational articles. All to keep you inspired and ‘itching for stitching’…. Till then, read on.
