From The Editor –
May should have an abundance of flowers as we certainly were not lacking for April showers! With this year’s near record cold Easter temperatures in the south, now would be a good time to start planning for an Easter coat to match the Easter dress or short-alls for next year. Easter for 2020 falls on April 12, so you have plenty of time to plan ahead!
We have recently received 2 shipments from vendors in France and are again well stocked for late spring and summer sewing. As well, we are awaiting shipments from 3 vendors in Switzerland in early May, so now would be a good time to check your inventory.
This month we are featuring a look at tucks and pleats as a decoration in garments and other French Sewn projects. They are a super economical way to add embellishment, and may be stitched in a variety of ways. Read on, and enjoy the pictures for inspiration.
Finally, I remind you of the Creative Sewing Market Sunday, September 8 at the Birmingham Marriott on Hwy 280, Birmingham, AL. For registration and further information, please contact McCarn Enterprises at 1-800-421-5680. This is the only market for our industry, an opportunity to see the newest products, patterns and fabrics and a fun and worthwhile day spent shopping for bargains as well!!
Till June,
Happy Stitching –
Sheila
